	In a clearing in the woods of southern coastal Maine there is an oasis of bonsai. My home, my studio, a comfortable guest apartment and a peaceful area where my trees are carefully arranged to catch the right amount of sun as it dodges the surrounding oaks. It is, as they say of Maine: "The way life should be". When creating my own bonsai I draw on my western artistic and cultural heritage to produce images that challenge the conventional bonsai aesthetic. I encourage all to do the same. I share my skills and experience with students of the Ho Yoku School and by teaching bonsai enthusiasts at clubs and events nationwide, as well as working with and for private clients on their personal and institutional collections.
